Stereo 3D Filmmaking: The Complete Interactive Course
I was trying to send this to the people who do the blog itself, but I can't find contact information...
But this is a piece of news useful to anyone, anyway, since we're opening the techniques of Stereo 3d filmmaking to all filmmakers.
Our company, Parallell Cinéma, was awarded the Dimmy's Award for outstanding interactive stereo 3D at the Dimension 3 Festival, in June, for the world's first complete stereo 3D training solution, available now on www.convergence3d.net : "Stereo 3D Filmmaking: The Complete Interactive Course".
It's compatible with any screen, S3D-capable or not (we developped a specific player).
This package is making a difference in the S3D world, being the only way for all filmmakers to professionally train themselves to stereo 3D, apart from long and expensive training sessions.
It is extremely complete, covering all technical and artistic changes, from pre-production to post-production. It includes:
* A 2h10min course shot in live-action stereo 3D: we explain a technique, you see the result.
* 8h in a "virtual film studio": an optically-accurate 3D software to test all the techniques in pre-built complex sets.
* 4h of very technical interviews with the S3D experts behind Coraline, Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars 3D, Despicable Me, Monsters vs. Aliens, etc.
MovieScope Magazine (UK) wrote: "The comprehensive DVD set explains all the techniques used in the field, including the most advanced such as non-parallel dynamic floating window, parallax range calculations, adaptation to screen sizes and more. This course gives filmmakers, from independents to long standing professionals, access to the technical skills necessary for the artistic change brought about by stereo 3D. "
American Cinematographer online (USA) wrote: “Stereo 3D Filmmaking: The Complete Interactive Course” makes the technical skills necessary for stereoscopic 3-D productions accessible to all filmmakers."
Sonovision/Broadcast (FR) wrote: "[It's] a must-have package"
And we're also the guys behind the stereo-3D capabilities of FrameForge Previz Studio, the previsualization software used to prepare their 3D shootings by Sony, RealD, 3ality Digital, etc. The "virtual film studio" of the course is based on it.
